Yahoo.com Homepage Redesign

Apparently today Yahoo decided to move their logo to the middle of the page. This seems like a very interesting move on their part, and feels completely out of place. It also also worth noting that they have embedded all the javascript and css inside the page code. Perhaps this has something to do with the fact that now their page loads at amazing speeds. Can someone comment on this? We are just speculating here.
