Incredibly creepy retro ads

We came across some great examples of creepy retro ads. It seems like back in the day the strategy for selling products was to scare the consumers into it. A baby holding a razor does not make me want to shave. A pig slicing itself doesn't exactly promote buying sausages. What would PETA say about this? In my opinion these look more like posters for some scary movie. What do you guys think?
